Embracing Uncertainty:
Navigating Self-Employment with Resilience

So, you've taken the plunge into the self-employment world, whether you willingly dove in or got swept up by the waves of layoffs across the tech world. Get ready for a wild ride as we embrace the unknown - trust me, it's a rollercoaster with more twists than a telenovela.
Picture this: you're standing on the edge of a cliff, peering into the vast unknown. The ground feels as stable as Michael Scott’s management tactics on 'The Office', winds of change swirling around you, and you're thinking, "Well, here goes nothing, right?" We've all been there - it's like trying to find your way through a maze blindfolded, both exhilarating and terrifying.
Every morning, it's the same game of "What's Next?" with panic and overwhelm crashing my party uninvited. The messy middle can feel never-ending, but I try to remember, it's just a chapter in my story. Embrace the uncertainty; it's all part of the grand adventure.
Of course it doesn't mean I feel any less vulnerable.
Keep in mind vulnerability isn't a weakness; it's my superpower in disguise. Embracing the unknown is like juggling flaming torches while keeping a poker face - chaotic yet strangely captivating. I actually wish that I knew how to juggle. Maybe I'll file that away in the "skills I wish I could prioritize" category.
My therapist always says to appreciate the messy middle because one day you'll look up, and it'll be gone. Sounds like a fortune cookie, right? But damn, does it hit home. The feeling of having too much time seems overwhelming but if this shit actually takes off--'cuse me, WHEN this shit actually takes off, I'm sure I'll be begging for the moments where I had too much time and the room to be stuck in analysis paralysis.
Leaving that messy middle means that we're rich in everyone's favorite unspoken currency: Attention.
Every moment I spend planning out what I want my business to be is literally me planning how to get people's attention. What makes me push to keep going is to share that messy middle. By sharing my journey here, I'm calling for realness amidst the noise. This very letter? Yea, it's my way of reaching out asking for a small attention donation. My hope is that it'll at least feel a little more connecting. Instead of waiting until it all works out and THEN talking about the hard parts I'd rather do it now.
My thoughts for resilience
🤪 Embrace the chaos: Life's a messy masterpiece; perfection is overrated (I'm trying to continuously remind myself this).
🫂 Lean on your tribe: Seek support, share your story, and remember, you're not alone. This can feel like a lonely path but it doesn't have to be. Talk to people even if it's only a few.
👑 Treat yourself like royalty: You're the CEO of your life; make it a grand adventure starting today. When I was a kid I used to turn my sheets into ball gowns so I can act out some of my favorite movies (Hello Anastasia?!). It didn't bother me one bit that I was wearing sheets as a dress. To me it was the most beautiful gown that would even push Cinderella out the spotlight. Rest is a RIGHT. Self care is a RIGHT. Peace is a RIGHT. You don't need permission.
Share Your Story aka comment on this for engagement and stuff 😅
Ever felt like you hit rock bottom and lost your marbles? Me too which is why I'm sharing all this. Feel free to share your tales of ups, downs, and everything in between. Let's embrace the chaos, acknowledge the struggles, and find solace in our shared experiences.
Alright, friend, I better get going - tasks are calling my name! There's something about deadlines that makes me want to do everything BUT what's on my to-do list, right? 😅
Remember, you're not just surviving; you're thriving in the beautiful chaos of entrepreneurship.
Catch you later!
